The Hill City Ranger boys cross country team won the first Black Hills Conference cross country title in school history.
Second place, behind the winning Ranger squad, were the "AA" Patriots of Douglas.
Andy Coy could not have picked a better time to win his first cross country race of the season. Andy ran the 5k course
in 16:41 to beat runner-up Eamin Entwisle by 11 seconds. Hudson Koel finished a valuable 5th place in the team race. Clint
Lewis may have saved the day for the Ranger harriers, as he beat all of the Douglas runners, besides (the Douglas 3rd place
finisher, and standout freshman) Riley Coates. Lewis was 8th in the race. John Bintliff was 14th in the race to close out
the scoring. Andy Quenzer and Josh Robison were 22nd and 23rd in the race to finish the Rangers top 6.
This week, the Rangers will travel to Red Cloud to compete in the Region 5 Class A Cross Country Meet. The event starts
at noon.
