CLASS 'A' ALL-TIME TOP 10

At the Howard Wood/Dakota Relays in Sioux Falls, the Rangers did very well against the top competition in the state, regardless of class. Friday’s events were cancelled, leaving the boys and girls 4x800 relay teams out of competition in their best events, nonetheless, the Rangers were ready to compete in an adjusted schedule the next day.  Earning top finishes for the boys was the 1600 meter medley relay, the team of Chance Clason, Adrian Salinas, Hudson Koel and Andy Coy finished 3rd in 3:45.95.  The boys qualified for the state meet in the event.  The boys 4x400 relay consisting of the same team members finished 8th in 3:34.93.  Coy ran a personal record 4:34.95 in the 1600 meters to qualify for the state meet and place 9th.   Koel ran a season best 4:40.6 in the race to finish around 15th place.  Jacob Allen was 10th in the 110 hurdles, running 15.69. Allen also posted 30th place in the 300 meter hurdle event (43.98).  In the triple jump, Allen jumped 37’6”.  Running the 3200 meters bright and early Saturday morning was Clint Lewis, who finished 2nd in his heat and 31st overall (10:47.28).  Clason participated in the 100 meters, finishing in 12.02.  

The girl’s 4x400 meter relay ran their best time of the year, finishing as the 5th best Class A team and 10th overall (4:21.37).  Team members were Stephanie Qualm, Mariah Asheim, Alise Kelting and Jessica McDonald.  In the 1600 meter sprint medley, the girls finished 11th in 4:42.07.  Asheim, Kelting, McDonald and Qualm combined again for this relay.
