The Hill City cross country team traveled to Red Cloud last Thursday for a meet which served as a preview to the region
cross country meet which will be held in October on the same course. Almost all of the schools that will be representing
Region 5 were in attendance.
Once again, the competition was stiff, with many of South Dakota's top individuals and teams in the event. The
Rangers came in ready to hurt and performed well in the 90+ degree heat, finishing as the team champions
in the boy's division!
Andy Coy was the first Ranger across the line, finishing in 2nd place behind Eammin Entwissle of Hot Springs.
Hudson Koel ran well, finishing in 5th place. Clint Lewis and John Bintliff capped the scoring with 9th and 11 place
finishes. Tyler Dewsbury, in his first race with the Rangers, finished 36th.
Make plans to watch the Rangers at the Belle Fourche Cross Country Meet this Thursday. Middle
school runners race at 2:30 with JV and Varsity races to follow.
