CLASS 'A' ALL-TIME TOP 10

The Ranger boys cross country team won their third straight cross country meet finishing as champions of the Custer Invitational last Thursday.  The Ranger boys scored a team low 19 points in defeating runners up Douglas and Newcastle, WY, who each had 43 points.

In Class A cross country, the team with the lowest point total for its top four runners wins the meet. A first place finish is worth one point, second place is worth two points, and so forth.  The fifth and sixth runners are the "pushers", and try to finish in front of rival teams' top four runners.

The Ranger girls had a runner this meet, with Stephanie Qualm running a great race, finishing in 3rd place (17:10).

For the boys, Andy Coy was Hill City's first finisher coming in 2nd place, breaking 17 minutes on the tough Custer course (16:57).  Hudson Koel ran well again, and was 5th in 17:52.   Clint Lewis, new to the Rangers this year, ran another smart race, finishing in 8th place (18:20).  John Bintliff was consistent yet again, finishing in 11th place to round out the scoring (18:46).  Josh Robison 28th and Andy Quenzer 33rd, rounded out the scoring.

Make plans to watch the Rangers as they travel to Hot Springs on Tuesday and on Friday, the big Elks Invitational in Rapid City.
